Pelican Heating & Air Is Now a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor®

We’re proud to share that Pelican Heating & Air is now a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor®, serving homeowners across the greater King County area.

If you’ve never heard the term, you’re not alone. Most homeowners haven’t. But if you’re thinking about a heat pump, a ductless system or replacing an aging furnace or AC, it’s one of the most useful things to look for in an HVAC contractor. Here’s why.

What is a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor?

Mitsubishi Electric is one of the best-known names in heat pumps and ductless heating and cooling. Its Diamond Contractor program recognizes HVAC contractors who complete a multi-stage training and qualification process covering Mitsubishi equipment, newer technologies and installation best practices.

In plain terms: a Diamond Contractor has shown Mitsubishi Electric that its team knows how to design, install and service these systems the right way.

The biggest benefit for homeowners: a 12-year warranty

When you choose a Diamond Contractor to install a qualifying Mitsubishi Electric system, you can be eligible for a 12-year parts and compressor limited warranty.*

That’s a meaningful step up. Without a certified installer, standard coverage on many Mitsubishi residential systems is shorter, typically 5 years on parts and 7 on the compressor.

To get the full 12 years, the system needs to be:

  • Installed in a single-family home by a Diamond Contractor
  • Registered within 90 days of installation
  • Owned by the original owner who lives in the home

We handle the registration for you, so you don’t have to track deadlines or fill out paperwork.

Why the installer matters as much as the equipment

When homeowners shop for a new system, they usually compare brands and efficiency ratings. But installation quality decides how well that system actually performs, often for 15 years or more.

A system that’s sized wrong, set up poorly or charged incorrectly can:

  • Run louder than it should
  • Cycle on and off constantly
  • Struggle to keep up on cold nights
  • Wear out earlier and cost more to run

Diamond Contractor training focuses on getting those details right, including:

  • Sizing for your home: matching the system to your square footage, layout and insulation, not just the size of your old unit
  • Zoned comfort: placing ductless or ducted indoor units so every room stays comfortable, without hot and cold spots
  • Clean, professional installation that protects your home and your investment

Heat pumps built for Pacific Northwest winters

Many homeowners still assume heat pumps can’t keep up when it gets cold. Modern cold-climate heat pumps have changed that. Mitsubishi Electric offers models designed to keep delivering heat in low outdoor temperatures .

For homes in the greater King County area, that can mean efficient heating through the cold, damp months, plus quiet cooling during summer heat waves, all from one system.

Already a Pelican customer? Here's what changes

If we already service your home, you’ll see the same familiar faces. The difference is that our team has now completed Mitsubishi Electric’s training, so you’re getting technicians trained by the manufacturer.

One important note: the 12-year warranty applies to new qualifying installations. It doesn’t change the warranty on equipment already in your home. If you’re curious about your current coverage, give us a call and we’ll help you look it up.
